Human nature is inherently mistaken. Anyone with a cursory understanding of Christianity should, in theory, have avoided using any sort of violence to further it's geographical reign. While I do believe Christianity is a greater truth than any pre-Christ belief system, I have no doubt that pagan beliefs were aimed at understanding the higher power, essentially, a good will attempt at religion, neither should they be subjected to any sort of forgetting. It's valid ancient history.
