Money Talk

Do not talk of money
that sordid subject
what is money to you
only a means to an end
and I, indeed, only
a means to an end.

Lean

Running lean no extra
only, only necessity
want slides over
to the next seat
I have, I have
all I need
this poem
is the excess
flourish on flourish
snow snapped
out of air
a blanket
over the earth
born, living
and thriving
of the cold

Kittens Crying

The tiny squeak
of tiny voices
vibrating anew
crying out scared
happy and aimless
needful and forlorn
a cry for life itself
to make sound
where before
there was none
when instinct
calls for action
such tiny things
kittens are
they can barely
move, but they
can cry as much
as they please.
