A Better Way

struggle, endless
as time is
only, one way
pushed to
exhaustion
the self
exalting
in endless work
and soft night
head on a pillow
the sudden waking
to a slowness
where evening
speaks of
completion
a better way
against
the grain
ground smooth
and flowing
with the river
of time and
divine instinct
I fall into
rush once more
and rise out
to a state
of peace
in knowing
I have
done enough

This one is about living a day of complete exhaustion. Pushing oneself to full capacity and the evening moments of rest that follow a complete day.
